Assemblies and Events
Every afternoon we enjoy whole school assemblies together which our teachers and regular visitors lead. Each week we focus on a particular theme which may be linked to global or national issues, religious events or topics which link to our chosen studies. We try to make our assemblies as interactive as we can and our children sometimes lead the assemblies themselves.
Every Friday afternoon we have a special assembly to celebrate our achievements. Each teacher gives an award to a pupil in their class in recognition of things such as good behaviour, exceptional effort in a particular subject area or exceptional progress.
Mr Logue also rewards those who have made these efforts with some of his special stickers.
For those who really have made a significant and distinct difference during the week they will be awarded a 'Ready to Fly ' certificate.
In Class 1 there is also a tradition of rewarding our youngest children with the special responsibility of caring for the Class Gorilla! To be chosen for the Gorilla, children need to impress Miss Watts with excellent effort for a whole week!
We invite friends and families to our regular Class Assemblies to enjoy sharing in the children's learning. Sometimes we have special visitors to these assemblies, such as governors, local councillors, staff from other schools and settings and our LEA advisors.
