Vision & Values
Our School vision was created with Students, Staff, Parents/Carers and Governors
Our school is such a special and unique place to learn. Together, we all aspire to fulfil our true potential, understand each other and follow our dreams. We aim to inspire, with high quality teaching, learning and experiences in and beyond the classroom.
As a school, we are all learners who learn in different ways – we recognise the challenges and barriers that can be faced. By building independence, resilience, an ability to try new things, a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence in all we do – we will all be ‘Ready to Fly’.
Our ethos is completely child-centred, putting our students at the heart of all the work we do. We do not work towards exam results or to appease external organisations; we deliver a curriculum that puts pupils' needs first. We have therefore developed the school around the mantra 'For the Children', as reflected in our logo.
Underpinning all our work are 5 key values/pillars, which we use to help shape our curriculum. They are:
• Rainbow (acceptance, diversity and links to William Wordsworth)
• Ready to Fly (our link to Sir George Cayley)
We will soon be updating this page to explain more about how we live and breathe these values in all the work we do, as well as what these pillars mean to us as a school community. However, you can find more information on how we consulted stakeholders, including parents/carers in the documentation below.
